Like if you had testicular cancer and found a bump, then it developed into liver cancer, would you have the symptoms of liver cancer aswell??
Can secondary bone cancer be cured?
The case I'm talking about is 19 years old, with cancer that now spread to the bones. Her doctor gives her 3 months of life. I researched and found treatments for bone cancer, but they don't specify whether or not they can really cure it. I would like to know the possibilities of her survival if one of the treaments is taken and how many years she can live due to treatment. I guess it's not possible for her to become old...Thank you.
Prognosis for early stage secondary liver cancer?
My aunt has recently been diagnosed as having bowel cancer. They found a 2 inch tumor in the large intestine. A CT scan has since shown the cancer has just begun to spread to the liver. The liver has some spots on one side of it. The dr's are going to treat it with chemotherapy. Does anyone know prognosis statistics for this type of cancer?
My mom has secondary bone and liver cancer? Is this the end?

What are the chances of survival for secondary leukemia?
secondary leukemia is caused by the treatment done on cancer patients. Chemotheraphy and radiation theraphy in particular but also hormonal theraphy they also suspect it. My mom is a 5 year breast cancer survivor and we found out after she cant eat because her mouth and sinuses has infections that she has leukemia. We are not sure what kind but we suspect AML. We have to further discuss it with her oncologist. What are her chances for survival?

Secondary cancer of the liver?
Someone very close to me has secondary liver cancer (it has spread from the breast) She also has tiny amount of secondaries on the lung. She found all this out in january but i'm unsure how long this may have been there for. She responded well to treatment until now. Now it's been downhill. She's unable to walk far or eat much, constant pain, los loads of weight. Basically is beginning to look ill for the first time. She starts a new treatment on thursday which may or may not work. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me, as it's not the kind of thing you ask, how long she may have left taking all this into account. I know there is a really bad prognosis for liver cancer and I know once cancer has spread it's incurable. I guess i'm wondering how long might be left as we're approaching christmas and i'm aware it could be the last. I want honest answers and don't know where to get them from. I'd appreciate some advice. Thanks.
I know alot about secondary cancer/metastatic/advanced breast cancer etc (not curable, breast cancer cells in liver not liver cancer ones if that makes sense!) but still feel like I know nothing!
Secondary bone cancer prognosis?
My mom is 55 and had breast cancer 17yrs ago. She has just been diagnosed with secondary bone cancer- it is something "positive" (ER or PR??) Her treatment will be a pill everyday a monthly IV and possibly radiation for pain management.
It is "extremely widespread"- her skull, all down her spine and tailbone, ribs, arms, legs- basically everywhere but hands and feet.
6 yrs ago my dad died of pancreatic cancer- he was diagnosed in Jan and died May 5th. We knew nothing about pancreatic cancer and were completely taken off guard. I'm afraid the same is going to happen with my mom.
Her onc told her only that "50% of people with secondary bone cancer don't live longer than 4 years"
I don't know what to make of that- 4 years from when? diagnosis or when the cancer began to spread? Her's is so wide spread what does that mean for her prognosis?
She has lost about 40 pounds and looks like a skeleton- she's still working. I want her to quit but is that premature or should I encourage her to stop working and enjoy life while she still can?
Anyone have any knowledgeable information to give me? I realize no one knows for sure but certainly there is a basic idea out there about her prognosis.
Please- give it to me straight don't try to be a politican about it. I wish someone would have looked me in the eye and told me it was time to say goodbye to my dad I don't want the same thing to happen again but I also don't want to over react.
Thanks
They are NOT giving her chemo- no I don't know why.

which is best for secondary kidney cancer, surgery or radio-frequency treatment?
Hi my mum was diagnosed with kidney cancer in Dec 2007 and had her right kidney removed Jan 08, it was a stage 3 tumor and though they said it was very advanced they did not remove the lymph-nodes as they thought they were ok.
In Nov 08 her ct scan was clear and in March 09 they scan showed a spot on her liver which was 1.5cm, she had a MRI and they referred her back to the oncologist who told us the cancer had spread.
At present she is awaiting to see the surgeon in L'pool regarding having the left half of her liver removed, which we have been told is major op.
My mum is not sure if she wants the op, for a few reasons 1 because she feels removing half the liver will not cure the cancer and as they feel its probably spread through the blood or lymph-nodes and she feels it will only be matter of time before it reappears. 2 because she has been told its a minimum of a 3 month recovery.
Is it true that the cancer is likely to reappear even if the current spot is removed?
And does anyone know about radiofrequeny treatment as she is very keen to try that as compared to major sugery it only takes about a wks recovery.
Which has the best results, and if she had surery how long would the cancer stay away? Are we talking it could stay away years amd years, as the oncologest said kidney cancer is an aggesive cancer.
