Several questions about prostate biopsy?

So my father, 50 years old, is having a biopsy to check for prostate cancer or related issues. He wants to know whether it's a big deal and he has to take the day off the next day from work or if it's just a go in and go out procedure and there is no pain afterward?

Serious question. Hope Dr. sees this. I have prostate cancer?

i was diagnoised with Prostate cancer 18 months ago. i had an biopsy done and out of 12 biops only 1 cancer cell showed up. I have recentely lost my urologist due to insurance. He explained everything too me and for forty-five minutes I listened along with two of my children. After all was said and done I decided on the "wait & watch". He said something else may kill me before my prostate cancer. He said if a male lives long enough he will have "prostate cancer".

Now to the new Doctor, a Navy Dr. that I am not thrilled about. First of he does not believe in the "Wait & watch" theory. In December he wants to do another biopsy regardless what my PSA level reads. My PSA was 5.2 last examination, and anything over 4.0 you should have a biopsy.

This Navy Doctor does not believe in the "watch & wait". He wants to do another biopsy regardless what my PSA level is

Should I go see my original Urologist even though I want be covered with Insurace; i.e. just for a second opinion.

Does saw palmetto really help shrink an enlarged prostate? ?

There are many claims and suggestions involving this herbal remedy, but it is just BS unless I can see a legitimate double blind clinical study. Furthermore, who can prove that the contents of any bottle of saw palmetto actually contain the ingredient in amounts claimed. It's a scammer's paradise out there with little oversight to substantiate claims.

Is a hard prostate necessarily a sign of cancer?

Someone I know went in for checks after a bad urinary tract infection. They were sent for tests for bladder cancer and a bleeding growth was found in the bladder. They also checked his prostate, it didn't hurt and they said it seemed very hard, but made no reference to irregularities or bumps.

A transurethral resection of the bladder was scheduled, and when they went in for the op, whatever the problem had been in the bladder was now gone, so it was written off as relating to the UTI.

However, while they were in they did a transurethral resection of the prostate, and removed a section of it because it had enlarged and was causing lots of pressure on his urethra. They said he had a high PSA level, but he also had a reoccurence of a UTI by this point.

No mention was made then or since of hardness or bumpiness, and we are currently waiting on the test results for it (day 12 of waiting now)

I am really praying it could turn out to be BPH or another problem.

Is there any symptoms if you have prostate cancer.?

Has there ever been a 29 year old diagnosed with prostate cancer? I’m 29 with an enlarged prostate.?

Last year I was diagnosed with an enlarged prostate (by rectal exam). I then lost my insurance and went a year without it (insurance). I recently started being seen by a doctor again and during my long overdue followup it was found that my prostate is even more enlarged now (but she said no lumps were felt). She is sending me to urology. She seemed very shocked about this and so am I. My dad was treated for prostate cancer a while back so it is in the family. My PSA last year was 0.4 and I haven't gotten the results from the one done today yet but my doctor cautioned that PSA results tend to not be very accurate in men under 40. I am really worried. Are my concerns without merit? Any professional opinions are greatly appreciated. I sincerely thank you for your time.
A little bit of my medical history. I do have extensive urinary problems such as dribbling and hesitation. Have had these for years. I also have type 2 diabetes, NASH liver disease, spinal stenosis, spinal arthrosis, desicated disc, thecal sac impingement, and more back issues.

Do my husband’s symptoms indicate a prostate problem?

In the morning when I can hear him urinating, his stream stops and starts, and it sounds like a dribble, not the strong stream you would expect with a full bladder. He said there is no pain. I've heard this the last couple days in a row, but it may have been going on longer, I don't usually try to listen!

And this happened once, a few weeks ago:
He got up in the morning to urinate, I don't know exactly what happened but it sounded like he fell down in the bathroom, he may have just kind of lost his balance and fallen into the wall. When he came out of the bathroom, he seemed really out of it and wouldn't answer questions, he walked into the bedroom door and was trying to leave. I went over to him, and he lay down on floor for a few minutes. He was in a cold sweat and said he felt nauseous. After a few minutes, he got up and got back into bed. After that he was fine, and that hasn't happened again. I don't know if this one is related.

Are there other things that can cause a man's urine stream to be weak, or is it pretty much just the prostate?

Thanks!
Sorry about the type-os, thought I caught them all.
He's 37 years old.
