what are the long terms effects of pancreatic cancer?
PLEASE let me know where you got your answer from.THANK YOU!
As an educated person, what is enough reason for you to go and have tests for pancreatic cancer?
is MRI any use or even that doesn't help?
We are talking the happy scenario - soon enough to survive, not talking about just learning what will kill you!
What are possibilities of Pancreatic cancer?
Lately when I go to the bathroom to go do number 2, I've been seeing a lot of blood. Enough blood to turn the water all red.
Is that a possibility of pancreatic cancer, because my grandpa has passed away from it when I was young. Also I'm only 14 and a vegetarian.
If that's not it what else could it be?
Oh and the other day I found this pea shaped lump on my lower shin just above my foot.
What is the survival rate and time for those diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.?
with or without Chemotherapy?

Pancreatic Cancer Stage 3?
My step-father found out that he has stage 3 pancreatic cancer 2 months ago. He went back and forth to the ER for a whole year for severe abdominal pain. They thought he had an ulcer. He never followed up with a doctor after all of his ER visits. He probably could have found out a lot sooner if he had.
Well, the cancer has been found to be wrapped around his blood vessels. It has not spread to any other organs. He's currently on a 2 wk break from chemo. He did six weeks of chemo and afterward he had a CT scan. As of yet, they said it has not spread. He's in pain often and complains of pain when he eats and sometimes when he drinks. I know that can't be good. I don't live in the same city as him, so I've learn all of this from caregivers.
My question is how long to you think he has? I want to get some kind of idea so I can make plans to travel to visit him. I can not get the words out of my mouth to ask anyone this question, I can type it better.
P.S. He's just 47. My mother died few years back from colon ca.
CC- He is eating, in fact tonight he told me he was having ribs and mac and cheese along with 2 icecream sandwiches. He says he makes himself eat most of the time. I think mostly because he may not have much of a appeitite. thanks
What exactly kills you when you get pancreatic cancer?
have been looking around everywhere for what ultimately kills you in pancreatic cancer but i can't find it.
Re: Patrick Swayze. If you had pancreatic cancer would you follow the western medicine recomendations ..?
Such as chemo...even though the statistics for survival are grim?
Or would you try an alternative treatment?
Doing both is an option many choose and usually also with grim results. Many alternative approaches focus on returning your body to its FULL fighting capacity...impossible under the effects of chemo.
Shows that supposedly "discuss" both sides give watered down versions of the alternative treatments, at least the ones I've seen and are geared mainly towards glorifying mainstream medicine.
The whole idea of "proven to work" is so tied up in who has the MONEY to fund "research" that they then can manipulate. A 4% 1 year survival rate sounds MIGHTY grim to me...don't think anything alternative, diligently and comprehensively applied can be worse than that!!
Many times people undertake a half hearted and diluted alternative measure after all conventional therapies have left them hopeless.
I would WELCOME the true study of a diligently applied TOTAL immersion into a natural healing approach sans the poisons!
Thumbs up for all!!
pancreatic cancer stages?
My mom has pancreatic cancer, and at her CT scan last week it showed a small portion has spread to her liver. Does that mean that it's stage 4? Everything I've looked at says that if it spreads to your liver, no matter how large or small the amount is, that it's stage 4. She's going to do 3 weeks of IV chemo, take a week off, then another 3 weeks, then see where she is.
Thanks, I just don't really understand this process.
How do I get free/lowcost hotel rooms when raising money for Pancreatic Cancer?
My boyfriend is going to be doing a solo bikeride from L.A. to Chicago to raise money and awareness for Pancreatic Cancer. How can we get hotels to donate a room for a night along the way? He will mostly be camping, but I would love to surprise him with a room here or there as the trip is going to be very difficult.
My best friend has recently found out he has Pancreatic cancer?
I am going to be there for him through it all, but I am just curious on what is to come with his condition and what should I expect? Thank you all in advance for your time on this question.
My Mother-In-Law has Pancreatic Cancer, she was diagnosed early in?
October. My Family is Devastated bcuz one of her Sons died of this same Disease 2 yrs. ago. When he was Diagnosed with it, the Doctors couldn't do anything for him. well, now that his Mom had surgery they found out the tumor could not be removed so she has to resort to Chemo when she gets out of the Hospital. It is horrifying bcuz we found out there is a Gene that is inherited for this form of Cancer, and I wonder if Chemo is enough to help AT ALL? It used to be there was no hope for Pancreatic Cancer but what have read lately, there IS since new developments.
Does anyone know any facts on new treatments for this?
We don't want to lose my "Mom-In-Law".
Thanks for any suggestions!
