My 15 year old chow/golden retriever might have lung cancer?
His blood work came out wonderful, but his chest xrays indicate that he has a mass. The vet thinks its probably cancer, but I've also been treating him for an infection. He's been eating like a horse but he has a bad cough that hasn't improved in the past three days of treatment. I won't put him thru chemo, but is there anything else I can be doing for him?
Should I be worried about my mother, diagnosed with Stage IIIB Lung Cancer?
My mother was diagnosed with stage IIIB lung cancer in March. She has had radiaition everyday since the end of March (excluding weekends and some time off for her blood counts being too low) and has had 2 rounds of chemo. At first she was doing really well, her attitude was great and she didn't feel all of the side effects everyone talks about. After she lost her hair, it alsmost seems as if she gave up. She has more bad days than good now. She had to have a blood transfusion a couple of weeks ago and she felt better, but here lately she has just been extremely tired and very emotional, I mean more so than normal since she started all of this. She only has 3 more days of radiation left, which I know she's happy about, but could this be a sign that maybe things aren't going to work out in our favor, or maybe she is just really really exauhsted? I just keep thinking that things will get better when her treatment is over and everything goes back to normal, but will it?
Need answers about Lung Cancer?
My uncle had a cancerous tumor on a lung, the lung was removed and he is now trying to survive with only one lung. It has not been easy for him and for the family. He recently discovered liquid in his one working lung and had it was drained. Now it appears he has a hole in his lung, and the doctor is hoping it will close up or they will need to operate again. What is the survival rate for a man with one lung in a condition like this? What does this hole in his lung mean? How can this hole be treated? I need answers, I am very worried about my uncle's well-being. Thank You.

What should i expect with liver and lung cancer?
my grandad has very recently been diagnosed with cancer, he has been told it is in his liver, his lungs and also his lymph glands and he has about 5 -6 weeks left. Can this be true when he is very well in himself, he is not yellow in colour, he simply went to the doctor 2 weeks ago with lack of appetite and a slight pain above his stomach. he seems very well at the moment. Will this deteriorate very quickly?
My dad is in the hospital in critical condition with a nasty lung infection, is there medicine to help him?
he has been in the hospital for about a week now. first they thought it was pneumonia, or radiation burns from lung cancer treatments. now they took a sample of all the crap on his lungs and it turned out to be a lung infection.they are gonna get a test result back sometime tomorrow to see what kind of germ it is and to see if they can get rid of it. im not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing because i don't know anyone whose had a lung infection. keep him in your prayers
he is breathing through a tube right now and asleep right now because of the procedure to see the crap in his lungs today.
Hospice care for my grandpa’s terminal lung cancer?

My grandpa has terminal lung cancer (one lung is completly full) and they think its spread to his spine (although he doesnt think he has cancer at all.) He had Hospice for about a month but he decided he didnt want them because "he doesnt have cancer". Today we picked out his urn, and got hospice to come back to keep him comfortable. what i want to know is how long would you think he has to live, today is my birthday and it would break my heart for him to pass today. i know you guys cant say exactl how long please dont say "no one can tell"..... his breathing has slowed and they think he is going to slipinto a coma soon... so if any of you have had experi9ence in this please tell me.

lung cancer at 18 years old?
I started smoking at the age of 16 and very recently quit after 2 years of smoking. I show some signs of lung cancer such as wheezing, chronic coughing, losing weight, loss of appetite, and coughing up phlegm. I wasn't a very heavy smoker maybe 5-10 cigs a day?
No one in my family has died of lung cancer. Almost all of my family relatives smoked sometime in their life and quit and died of heart stroke... sad I know...
These symptoms are beginning to scare me, can anyone tell me if its possible to get lung cancer at such an early age while being a relatively light smoker for 2 years?

My wonderful cat, Pounce, was just diagnosed today with lung cancer. He is only 10 years old. We are non-smokers. How would he get this? We are just devastated as we love him so much. He's lost some weight and is limping. The vet gave us some meds to help with pain and increase his appetite to help stop the weight loss. Besides this and lots of love, is there anything else we can do?
How long does a lung cancer patient have to live without treatment?
My grandmother was diagnosed with lung cancer, it has grown from the size of a grape to the size of a golf ball in a month. She won't do any chemo/radiation or surgery, because she wants the time she has left to be good, and the docs said she has a year left. BUT ... first, if it's grown that fast, how can she have a year? And every instance of lung cancer I've ever heard of has had the patients die much sooner ... like Peter Jennings was given six months and lived like two weeks, and another I read about was given a year and died less than three months later. How long does she have, realistically?

Can spray glue vapor give you lung cancer?
8 years ago I inhaled alot of this stuff doing some wood work. I mean ALOT, when we were working spraying 2x4 sized pieces it gets to be bad. I seriously inhaled too much of it, probably a whole cans worth since we used at least 10 cans. I could not find any information about the carcinogenic properties of the vapor.

My dad just got home from getting a biopsy done tonight and he has lung cancer. The doctor said that it is in the early stages and they are going to be removing part of his lung. It is only in his left lung not the right. He quit smoking 2 and 1/2 months ago. I dont know if it is small cell or non small cell cancer. He is going to be treated at Dana Farber Cancer Center in Boston. I was wondering what are the survival rates for this?

2 deaths in my family from non-smoker lung cancer?
My mom had chronic bronchitis for YEARS! she never smoked or lived with a smoker. that's why we were SHOCKED when she was diagnosed almost a year ago with stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer.
Sadly, she passed away July 24th. Her maternal aunt also didn't smoke or live with a smoker, and she passed away from lung cancer on June 14th! My question is (and yes, I have asked my dr, but she didn't really seem all that concerned, which irritates me!) should I be worried? I get chest colds a LOT! and from the research i have done lately, it would seem that a chest cold is really acute bronchitis. My mom having chronic bronchitis didn't phase us. We thought she just had a crappy immune system and got sick a lot. turns out, that's a pre-cursor to lung cancer more often than not.
Should I insist on a chest X-ray? People say that lung cancer isn't genetic, but it's just odd to me how TWO PEOPLE in my family died from it, and they never smoked. my sister & i are ex-smokers, so that probably increases OUR chances of getting it...but now today i woke up AGAIN with a chest cold and have some pressure. i am in the process of finding a new dr. one that will CARE about this sort of stuff, but in the meantime...not sure if i should worry. am I just being paranoid?
