Whydo women think breast cancer is so bad compared to men’s health issues?

men have it worse worse than women. i always hear "breast cancer" whenever which gender has a harder health , and of course, its sexist to say anything back.
in reality, men die younger of every medical issue, including cancer and heart disease, men do not have an extra X to fall back on , and the sperm gene has been linked with shorter life.
being a man makes you more unhealthy, no doubt.

Stage four breast cancer?

Hi I am 14 years old and my mom has stage four breast cancer. She just went for a scan and it has been at a stan still for awhile now. She has little spots around her lungs, but they shrunk with the chemo. So its not big but its still stage four. I heard that she really only has like 5 years to live from some websites. Is this true??? How long could people really live with this. She gets a scan every 3 months and if its active she goes for chemo. It hasnt become active yet. But can someone please give me some more info on it.

Please no rude comments

Since the month of October is breast cancer awareness month…?

Can any modern Feminist suggest the appropriate light intensity falling on a light box, either in NITS (candela per square meter) or in Lux for viewing mammograms and discuss how this compares to the NITS used for the optimal viewing of conventional radiographs of, say, the thorax?

This is a critical matter in screening and diagnostic film/screen mammography, so please provide references. Please do not provide answers that may potentially harm patients with cancer.

Please focus on this important question that I'm asking rather than my English usage or other extraneous matters given the gravity of this matter. If you have nothing pertinent to contribute, please do not answer the question. I specifically ask for modern Feminists because these are the leading experts in matters concerning women and public awareness of women's issues. Please do not waste your time or mine by questioning why I ask this question in this forum. This forum is specifically geared to learning about women's issues and I can think of few issues that are as important to women as this.

I've asked in other venues and have not received a satisfactory answer so I would like to know from the most erudite of women's scholars, the modern Feminists. Please provide a reference to any information your suggest as it pertains to ACR standards.

Breast Cancer Scrapbook ideas?

My Spanish teacher, who is one of my most favorite teachers ever, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. I decided that my class and I should secretly make a scrapbook for her and present it on a random day, just as a small way to show that we support her. We decided that each person will make his/her own page in which he/she will attach a picture of him/herself, and that the last few pages will be class pages. However, I'm not the most experience scrapbooker ever and was wondering if anyone had ideas on decorating pages. I've used stickers before, written/typed in crazy fonts (if anyone has new written font ideas, that'd be great), cut things out of construction paper and glued them on, glued in origami, cut things out of felt, and decorated with ribbon and yarn on some previous scrapbooks. As of now, I haven't picked out a scrapbook and colors yet, so I can't give you a color scheme, but ANY ideas would truly, truly be appreciated.

Thank you so much in advance!

One more thing, if anyone has been through breast cancer and/or knows anyone who has been through breast cancer, what are some quotes that helped you get through those tough times (extra brownie points if they're in Spanish! :P ).

Thank you, thank you, thank you in advance. :)

Should a 76 yr. old woman diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer decide to not go with radiation after surgery?

Due to age, possible damage of skin and/or internal organs wanting to maintain quality of life. Is this a common choice of older cancer patients?

Breast Cancer – Bone Cancer?

My dearest friend of 25 years just recently finished her chemo treatment for breast cancer. She had 8 treatments in total and was told that she'd have to have a mastectomy on her left breast. She recently went for a cat scan which I was told was rutine before she went to have her reconstructive surgery done - a transflap.

Well, it appeared that during the scan some areas on her hip and spine lit up. It was thought that she had bone cancer but the final pathology on the bone biopsy came back "inconclusive". It showed some suspicious cells but no actual cancer.

What are the chances that she has breast cancer that has metastasized to her bones and if it isn't that what else could it possibly be?

Most of her family are taking the "inconclusive" result as a positive thing but my intuition is telling me otherwise. Anyone have any experience with this sort of situation?
When she had the cat scan it showed bone lesions that weren't there on the prior cat scan she had done. Her doctor told her that while she still needed to prove without a doubt that it was cancer she really didn't think it could have been anything else.

Another point of concern was that when they were testing her in the begining of her breast cancer treatment they had found it had gotten to her lymphnodes but the numbers indicated that it hadn't gotten any further. I guess it was so many out of so many - I can't recall.
