Symptoms of diabetes are none that you’ve explained. If your very thirty or going to potty more often than usual then maybe your heading towards being a diabetic. If your sugar is between 80-120 then your fine but if it’s higher or lower than those numbers then see a doctor. If your over weight then try to get that weight down because that tends to lead to diabetes really bad. Get yourself on a regular diet and have a snack in between and eat healthy to stay healthy. You don’t want this disease.

Right all your symptoms are consistant with you being Insulin Resistant (a pre-diabetic condition). Your sugar tests will show within the normal range as did my daughters, yet she has just been diagnosed 25th September 2009 as being Severely Insulin Resistant.

Look at the following website and it will detail for you symptoms such as brain fogginess & an inability to focus etc….

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Insulin_resistance

There are other signs of being pre-diabetic that you mighten be aware of and that is the obvious ones of having brown/grey/black patching around the neck. It can also be found in the inner elbows, groins, under the bust & armpits. Having this visible indicator is often mis-diagnosed by doctors and is actually NOT eczema but a condition called Acanthosis Nigricans… Please see the following website for more information on that:

    http://www.aocd.org/skin/dermatologic_diseases/acanthosis_nigrica.html

The pictures shown here are of a patient who is severely insulin resistant so you oughten expect yours to appear any where near as dark……

I am on my personal mission of trying to broadcast this condition to as many people as I can because GP’s are not at all familiar with these conditions and many patients are suffering needlessly because of being overlooked.

Either way for you to determine whether you are Insulin Resistant or not you need to be booked in with an Endocrinologist for them to do a Glucose Intolerance Test. They will be able to determine just how well your body deals with sugars right now…..

The symptoms of diabetes are NOT UNIQUE to diabetes. Diabetes “mimics” other diseases, including old age, puberty, and arthritis.

the ONLY way you can know for sure if you are or are not diabetic is to take blood tests from the doctor.

The single most important test is the A1C test. this test takes an average of your blood sugars over the last 90 days. Since the result is an average you cannot cheat the test by eating right for a couple of days before the test, and one night of binging on ice cream and cake will not cause false readings.

If there is ANY question (and you should have LOTS of questions, seeing that you have the two most important factors for diabetes) you MUST see your doctor for blood tests.

Normal range blood sugar will vary throughout the day based on what you have eaten, how much physical activity you have gotten and how long it has been since you have eaten. On an empty stomach, blood sugar levels should be between 70 and 100mg/dL for a non-diabetic. However, you still not considered a diabetic until blood sugar levels following an overnight fasting are above 126mg/dL.

Let’s say that your blood sugar level on an empty stomach or after an overnight fast is around 115mg/dL. You may assume that you have diabetes – since it is above the high range or “normal” – but you do not. Rather you have what called pre-diabetes or IFG (impaired fasting glucose) and sometimes known as IGT (impaired glucose tolerance).

    “…im over weight, ”

Lose weight through diet and exercise. Do it now while you can. Your doctor can run some tests also, but that is the same advice he will give you. Stop over-eating. LOSE WEIGHT!
